Thatcher's Story

Thatcher's Story
I didn't want this to get lost in my list of posts, so I am creating a place so that everyone can easily access this link. Please read this touching story about baby Thatcher, our friends son who was born with a rare liver disease and is in need of a liver transplant. Jessie has worked closely with Brad for over 4 years and I became friends with her while working at WSA until I left last spring. Thatcher was born a month before Braden and this story really hits home for me. When I look at Braden I think about how incredibly lucky I am. This could just as easily be our him going through this. Jessie will most likely be the living donor for Thatcher and they are in need of our prayers! I promise you will be touched by reading this story. Thanks!

Shame on me!

I have been such a bad blogger lately... I will admit that I have thought about totally abandoning the blog all together but then I think about when I started it (right before Connor was born). I did it to keep everyone informed about our new life and addition, and then it kind of became a journal for me to look back on. The thought of not having that for the new baby makes me a little sad, so I am going to try and stick with this. Facebook is just so much faster and easier to keep up with everyone so I spend most of my time on there.

The past two months have been such a change to what we have been accustomed to at my house. I am thoroughly enjoying my time with Connor before #2 arrives. We are having so much fun and are staying pretty busy. We have been spending a lot of time at the pool and will probably continue with it getting hotter each day :) The most frustrating thing is that Connor will no longer take naps for me. At a time when I am trying to take in all the rest that I can to prepare myself for the sleepless nights, he just won't do it. I have been going into work occasionally to train my replacement, and keep up with a few things. I will probably be finished for good sometime in July. It is still nice to have a little bit of extra money coming in and it is working out quite well.

We have decided on a name for Connor's baby brother..."Braden Taylor". Taylor is a family name (my Pawpaw's and brothers middle name) that I always knew I wanted to use it and we thought about using it for a first name and then came across Braden in one of the baby names books. We really liked it and then realized that it had (Brad) in it which is even better! I cant believe that I only have 10 weeks left until I meet him, and then I step outside and think 10 weeks is going to be an eternity. Ha! I have been feeling pretty good until this week. It seems I get tired easier and faster and my body just wont let me do all of the things I would like to do. It started much earlier with this pregnancy, which could be because I am definitely growing faster this time. I went to the doctor last week and everything is looking good. I passed my diabetes test...Yippee! My iron is low so this may be the reason for my tiredness. We have also set a date for the c-section (we will be repeating this since I had to have one with C)...August 30th! That is only 10 weeks away, unless he decides to make his entrance early.

Since my last post, we have made lots of trips to Rockwood to finish Brad's Aunt Susie's house. Brad's parents are selling it and they have been fixing it up. The inside has been completely redone, new carpet, hardwood refinished, new counter tops and appliances, all new doors and light fixtures, and new bathroom vanity with accessories. We have landscaped, repainted shutters, built a railing on the porch, etc. It looks fantastic!! I will be posting pictures as soon as it is all completed. If you know anyone who needs a house in Rockwood, let us know! It will be going on the market in a few weeks. We have also been to Dollywood, Norris Lake to stay in a cabin, the neighborhood pool, and of course Watts Bar Lake since Grannie and Pops bought a "tompoon" boat. Connor has been asking for a "tompoon" boat for a while and I guess they finally caved. It is amazing the influence a 3 year old can have on his grandparents! LOL.

Connor and Brad are doing well. Connor is so excited about his new baby brother and has been helping me go through all of the baby stuff that he used. His favorite thing is to turn on the swing and the music. The other day we had 3 lullabies playing, things vibrating, swinging, etc. I think he is going to be my little helper for sure! However, he makes it very clear that some of the things such as his power wheel riding toys are HIS! Lol. Brad has been working on the house, and improving his golf game. The chores are piling up at home and the honey do list is getting longer. Lol. Lots of things to do before Braden arrives!

Here are a few pictures of the last two months...
