Thatcher's Story

Thatcher's Story
I didn't want this to get lost in my list of posts, so I am creating a place so that everyone can easily access this link. Please read this touching story about baby Thatcher, our friends son who was born with a rare liver disease and is in need of a liver transplant. Jessie has worked closely with Brad for over 4 years and I became friends with her while working at WSA until I left last spring. Thatcher was born a month before Braden and this story really hits home for me. When I look at Braden I think about how incredibly lucky I am. This could just as easily be our him going through this. Jessie will most likely be the living donor for Thatcher and they are in need of our prayers! I promise you will be touched by reading this story. Thanks!

Sometimes it's a good thing that they dont make 'em like they used to!

This is what Brad said last night as we were coming home and laughing about how many times Connor crashed and burned on the vintage three wheeler that used to belong to Brett. The last crash was a pretty bad one, but at least he didnt crash into the tree that was just ahead! I had to take a picture of the scene...shoe off, seat off, and battery out. And since Connor didnt walk away crying we thought it was pretty funny! So the next time you are thinking that they just dont make things like they used to...well there is usually a reason why! LOL

Here is the picture of Connor looking at the peices.

Connor loves this thing!
I love this picture...check out Connor's face. He was squinting and running with all of his might!
Going to Grandy's barn to see the "John Deere tractor" a.k.a the John Deere lawnmower...again.

We had a fun afternoon at Nonna and Grandy's house. We got to visit with Brett and Hillary too as an added bonus! There were showers and storms all around us, but they stayed away so were able to spend lots of time outside which is where Connor wants to be. It has been a nice and relaxing Labor Day weekend!

Spoken from the mouth of a 2 yr old...

To begin, I need to give you a little background information. Monday I went to the dermatologist and had some small bumps on my chin and cheek frozen (to remove). As a result they told me they would be larger and red for a few days. Note to self...if this is done again, do it on a Thursday so I have Fri, Sat, and Sun to heal before going back into work.

Here is how the conversation went this morning as I was putting Connor in the car...

Connor: "Mommy, what is THAT?" (pointing to my chin)

Mommy: sigh..."It is Mommy's boo boo."

Connor: "You need to get THAT off!"

Mommy: laughing by this time..."Yes, I am trying to get it off."

Connor: "You need to get a screwdriver!"

It was hysterical. I was laughing so hard and then Connor thought it was funny so we are both sitting in the car laughing. I guess that every 2 year old little boy thinks that a screwdriver fixes everything. Did I mention that it did wonders to boost my self confidence before going in to work that day?!
