Thatcher's Story

Thatcher's Story
I didn't want this to get lost in my list of posts, so I am creating a place so that everyone can easily access this link. Please read this touching story about baby Thatcher, our friends son who was born with a rare liver disease and is in need of a liver transplant. Jessie has worked closely with Brad for over 4 years and I became friends with her while working at WSA until I left last spring. Thatcher was born a month before Braden and this story really hits home for me. When I look at Braden I think about how incredibly lucky I am. This could just as easily be our him going through this. Jessie will most likely be the living donor for Thatcher and they are in need of our prayers! I promise you will be touched by reading this story. Thanks!

Spoken from the mouth of a 2 yr old...

To begin, I need to give you a little background information. Monday I went to the dermatologist and had some small bumps on my chin and cheek frozen (to remove). As a result they told me they would be larger and red for a few days. Note to self...if this is done again, do it on a Thursday so I have Fri, Sat, and Sun to heal before going back into work.

Here is how the conversation went this morning as I was putting Connor in the car...

Connor: "Mommy, what is THAT?" (pointing to my chin)

Mommy: sigh..."It is Mommy's boo boo."

Connor: "You need to get THAT off!"

Mommy: laughing by this time..."Yes, I am trying to get it off."

Connor: "You need to get a screwdriver!"

It was hysterical. I was laughing so hard and then Connor thought it was funny so we are both sitting in the car laughing. I guess that every 2 year old little boy thinks that a screwdriver fixes everything. Did I mention that it did wonders to boost my self confidence before going in to work that day?!
