Thatcher's Story

Thatcher's Story
I didn't want this to get lost in my list of posts, so I am creating a place so that everyone can easily access this link. Please read this touching story about baby Thatcher, our friends son who was born with a rare liver disease and is in need of a liver transplant. Jessie has worked closely with Brad for over 4 years and I became friends with her while working at WSA until I left last spring. Thatcher was born a month before Braden and this story really hits home for me. When I look at Braden I think about how incredibly lucky I am. This could just as easily be our him going through this. Jessie will most likely be the living donor for Thatcher and they are in need of our prayers! I promise you will be touched by reading this story. Thanks!

Peekaboo Playtown

After being at home all day for two days in a row, I thought it was about time that I took Connor somewhere to exercise all of that bottled up energy. A new place opened this month called Peek-a-boo Playtown, so we decided to check it out. It was by far the best $7 spent in a while. They had soft couches for me and everything that Connor could dream of to play with! He really enjoyed it and I was able to just sit and watch, which was my goal. Ha! We will definitely be going back.

Looking at all of the produce at the grocery store.

Time to ring it up...
He LOVED the Firehouse!

Playing some b-ball Time to fix up his garage.
...and we met some friends while we were there!
Playing with his new friend. It looks like he is about to bash something with this carrot. LOL!

Ready for a fire!

It's finally finished!

We finally wrapped up Braden's room. Between me organizing things, Brad painting the room, and hanging things back up again it took a little while. Here are some pictures of everything complete! Now we are just waiting...

Who needs to buy artwork when you can make your own?

I didnt want to use the same wooden letters that Connor had so I decided to go out on a limb and try and paint my own. I had such a good time doing them...maybe a new hobby?

Check out that silly boy in the picture! Hard to believe that I used to rock him in that chair. Oh, how fast they grow!

5 more weeks as a family of three...

It's so hard to believe that Braden will be here at the end of next month (unless he wants to join us sooner I guess)! We are all getting very excited, Connor especially! He talks about Braden every day and about how he is going to play with him and teach him everything. I think he is going to be a great big brother! He is helping me so much around the house these days. For example...if my phone rings and its out of reach, he gets it for me. Sometimes I feel guilty asking, but right now it is such a big help and I am so thankful.

We haven't done much this past month. It is just too hot and hard for me to travel. Connor doesn't even ask to go outside until the evenings. LOL! We do go to the pool on occasion too, but sometimes it even feels to hot to be there. I think we have been to more movies this summer than we have our three years since Connor was born. Connor has really taken a liking to Buzz Lightyear since we saw Toy Story 3! We were only allowed to call him Buzz for at least two weeks. We are having a really good time together and I am so glad to have had this time off of work to spend with just him!

Everything is going well with the pregnancy. I will be 35 weeks on Monday. I am feeling ok I guess, just very uncomfortable. I don't remember feeling this bad with Connor. When I sit I get out of breath, when I walk I lose my breath. I dont have a lap anymore and that makes it hard for Connor to cuddle in my lap like he used to or even type this post! Ha! I have also had pretty bad sciatic nerve pain this time. Some days it is so bad I can hardly walk and other days it doesn't bother me at all. I am so ready to hold Braden, feel normal and not have to rely on anyone to do anything for me.

Here are some pictures of Connor from the last month.

Still loving Grannie and Pops tompoon boat!To Infiniti and BEYOND!

Where a kid can be a kid!

We took Connor to Chuck E Cheese last Saturday and even though it was a tad bit crowded, we had a great time. We didnt eat there (thank goodness!), just got some coins so Connor could play some games and he was very happy! Here are a few pictures of our time there.

This is the game that Connor has been talking about for weeks...riding the motorcycle. Actually it was a jet ski.

Love that determined face...

He loved riding this horse and was so excited that he got it to jump...missed his silly face in the pictures though.
Will you let me out Mommy? Lol!
