Thatcher's Story

Thatcher's Story
I didn't want this to get lost in my list of posts, so I am creating a place so that everyone can easily access this link. Please read this touching story about baby Thatcher, our friends son who was born with a rare liver disease and is in need of a liver transplant. Jessie has worked closely with Brad for over 4 years and I became friends with her while working at WSA until I left last spring. Thatcher was born a month before Braden and this story really hits home for me. When I look at Braden I think about how incredibly lucky I am. This could just as easily be our him going through this. Jessie will most likely be the living donor for Thatcher and they are in need of our prayers! I promise you will be touched by reading this story. Thanks!

Homestead Manor Plantation

I have been telling Mom about this historical house just down the road from my house that has opened up a tea room/gift shop/restaurant. They serve high tea (like my Mom's tea room that she had), serve lunch and dinner and have a gift shop. The house is pretty large so they have lots of dining rooms, but you have to make reservations because they fill up fast. It is such a pretty place and has a lot of history as well. The house was built in the early 1800's and was involved in the Battle of Thompson's Station in the Civil War. The confederate flag bearer was shot down and the lady that owned the house was watching from the cellar and ran out to carry the flag. The house also served as a hospital for all of the wounded soldiers. The grounds are being preserved as a battlefield and the house is on the historical registry. I love history and reading about all of the civil war homes nearby. The food was great and Connor was such a good boy! We had a great time and I cant wait to go back and try dinner!
