Thatcher's Story

Thatcher's Story
I didn't want this to get lost in my list of posts, so I am creating a place so that everyone can easily access this link. Please read this touching story about baby Thatcher, our friends son who was born with a rare liver disease and is in need of a liver transplant. Jessie has worked closely with Brad for over 4 years and I became friends with her while working at WSA until I left last spring. Thatcher was born a month before Braden and this story really hits home for me. When I look at Braden I think about how incredibly lucky I am. This could just as easily be our him going through this. Jessie will most likely be the living donor for Thatcher and they are in need of our prayers! I promise you will be touched by reading this story. Thanks!

Something really cool happened yesterday...

Brad Paisley and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley (from Father of the Bride, We Are Marshall, and According to Jim) came and toured our post-partum room! We were lucky enough to stay in the biggest suite they have while there so the nurses came in and asked us if would mind stepping out of our room for a few minutes while "a very important future patient toured our room." We of course didn't mind because we wanted to see who it was. Only one problem, they couldn't tell us who it was and we couldn't stay in the room while they were there. However, we saw them come in and walk to the room and of course we knew right away who they were.

After they came out of the room the nurse said to them "these are the nice people who left their room so that you could see it" as she pointed to us. They immediately said "thank you all very much" and Brad said "I sure do hope you like the Predators with all the Predators decorations in the room" in a joking manner (the room has a couple of glass enclosures with autographed Predators memorabilia). He went on to say a couple of other things to us and both he and Kimberly again thanked us for letting them see our room. They were both very nice and gracious.

I told Tara she was even better looking in person than she is on TV (don't know if Tara liked that comment or not), and Brad was VERY small...shorter than I and probably weighed every bit of 140 pounds. We didn't bother them any further as I know they probably get tired of people asking for autographs, pictures, etc., but it was definitely pretty cool to see how nice they were.
