Thatcher's Story

Thatcher's Story
I didn't want this to get lost in my list of posts, so I am creating a place so that everyone can easily access this link. Please read this touching story about baby Thatcher, our friends son who was born with a rare liver disease and is in need of a liver transplant. Jessie has worked closely with Brad for over 4 years and I became friends with her while working at WSA until I left last spring. Thatcher was born a month before Braden and this story really hits home for me. When I look at Braden I think about how incredibly lucky I am. This could just as easily be our him going through this. Jessie will most likely be the living donor for Thatcher and they are in need of our prayers! I promise you will be touched by reading this story. Thanks!

Connor's first official round of golf!

Brad has been wanting to take Connor to play golf for a while, and Friday we finally got the chance! Connor was so excited! He even wanted to wear his golf visor, which he never wants to wear just so he could be like a real golfer. Connor thinks that it is his Daddy's course, and even though Brad did join in December Connor thinks it is really HIS course. It is so cute! He had a blast and I think he liked riding in the golf cart about as much as he liked playing. He did so good and even let Brad show him a few things, which he never does. We hope to be able to take him out again soon! All three of us had a great time.

What a putt!
So proud of himself.
Doesn't he just look like a pro!

He loved taking the flags out for Daddy!

He really liked hitting out of the sand bunker!
While we were waiting for Daddy to finish his putt, we played by the creek.

Love this one!!

Hilton Head

The week before last Brad and I went to Hilton Head for 4 days. Brad went for work and I was drug along with him...I tell ya it was a hard decision to make :) Connor stayed with Nonna and Grandy and was so excited about his vacation as well!

My mornings were spent at the beach and by the pool, and then when Brad got back in the afternoon we would go to the Verizon Heritage PGA golf tournament. This area is so beautiful! It was the first time for both of us at Hilton Head. We hope to go back soon with two kids in tow!

My morning walks on the beach...
My view from the pool. Usually I would rent a umbrella and chair at the beach but since we left everyday at noon there was really no point. I don't think that this view was that bad! I loved the hammocks that they had at the resort. The best was watching people flip out of them multiple times. Pretty sure that if I flipped out even once, I wouldn't try to do it again. LOL :)
One of my favorite things about the low country...the moss covered oaks.

Jim Furyk in the lead...

Brad and I on the 18th hole. It was so pretty because it followed the edge of the water and the lighthouse in the background.
I really wanted to go in the lighthouse but you couldn't get near it because there were a lot of people hanging out in the area and I am pretty sure they knew nothing about the golf tournament they were supposed to be there for.
Boo in his camo...I wasn't very impressed by his attire but I guess you could say its different!
Sitting at the #2 tee. As you can see we had great seats!
Jim Furyk on Sunday...we didn't stay long enough to see the play off :(

For those of you who have been asking for belly pics...here you go. Pretty sure I am as big now as I was at 6 or 7 months preggo with Connor!

Working at Aunt Susie's

A couple of weekends ago Connor and I were finally able to go to Susie's house to help out with the work that is being done. Because of Connor being sick so much, it had been quite a while since I had seen it. I was amazed with the progress! It is going to look great when it is finished!

Since the weather was so nice we decided to take on the landscaping project for the front yard. We dug up the trunks of some very large bushes and planted some flowers and new bushes in its place. We created another bed on the other side of the sidewalk and mimicked the other one. I didn't get any final pictures after we put the mulch down :( I was pooped from all of that planting. It looks so great! Its amazing what a little landscaping will do for curb appeal.

Connor of course did most of the work! He had to put on his gloves and help Daddy dig out all of the grass. Poor guy was sick and we didn't even know it. That night he came down with a high fever and little did we know that his strep had not went away. He was such a trooper and I never would have known he was sick at all!

Easter at Nonna and Grandy's

On the Saturday before Easter we spent the day at Nonna and Grandy's house for a great Easter lunch and a family get together with the Lux family and Uncle Brett and Aunt Hillary. Since we didn't get to see them on Christmas because my Aunt was going through cancer treatments it was great to see them! My Aunt Linda looks great and since has had her scans and there is no trace of cancer anywhere! Praise the Lord! We also got to celebrate my cousin Ronnie's engagement! Congrats to Ronnie and Jen! Sorry no pictures of them :(

Connor got to have an Easter egg hunt and really got the hang of it this year! Our family likes to hide them in the trees so Connor now knows to look high and low for the eggs. Even if he could reach the egg, he would shake the tree to get it out. So funny!

I tried desperately to get Connor to take some pictures under the blooming trees, but he would not stay still as usual. Had to snap this one with him on the run!
Everywhere Grandy goes...Connor follows.

Very determined!

On Easter morning...Connor had a big surprise from the Easter Bunny! Lots of goodies and the dump truck that Connor has been wanting for his sandbox. It wouldn't fit in the basket of course... The Easter bunny also left behind a few little morsels of carrot that he didn't finish. Cooper took care of it pretty quickly and we learned that he loves carrots!

Egg hunt at Great Grandmas!

On Easter afternoon we went to Grandma's house to have lunch and Connor got to have another Easter egg hunt. I have so many memories of hunting Easter eggs in her yard as a child. It was special watching Connor hunt eggs in some of the same places. We had a great time and the weather was just perfect!
