Thatcher's Story

Thatcher's Story
I didn't want this to get lost in my list of posts, so I am creating a place so that everyone can easily access this link. Please read this touching story about baby Thatcher, our friends son who was born with a rare liver disease and is in need of a liver transplant. Jessie has worked closely with Brad for over 4 years and I became friends with her while working at WSA until I left last spring. Thatcher was born a month before Braden and this story really hits home for me. When I look at Braden I think about how incredibly lucky I am. This could just as easily be our him going through this. Jessie will most likely be the living donor for Thatcher and they are in need of our prayers! I promise you will be touched by reading this story. Thanks!

Country Ham Festival '08 and the Thompson's visit

This weekend was fun filled and started on Friday with the arrival of An Am, Pete, and Cadillac (their basset hound). We enjoyed some burgers from out on the grill and played until bedtime with Connor. On Saturday we woke up to await the arrival of Grannie and Pops and then headed off to the Country Ham Fest here in Spring Hill. Brad and I have been the last 2 years and Connor went to the last one. Since he has gotten a little bigger and is more able to do things we thought it might be a little more fun this year if you know what I mean. We walked around a visited the booths and ate some great barbecue for lunch. Yes, we skipped out on the country ham because I was already dehydrated from the burgers on the night before. Pops, Brad and Connor got to watch a little bit of the judging of the country hams, and then we headed up the hill to look at the cool cars (Corvette's) they had on display. Connor loves some cars and trucks! We headed to the kids area and saw the baby pigs (we had just missed the race- darn!) and then let Connor try to hit a hole in one at the kid's putting contest. All of the big kids were lined up and when C got up there the man and lady looked at him with that "Oh how cute" smile and handed Connor the club. Well, he showed them that he knew what he was doing! He had a perfect swing with follow through. Thats my boy! He enjoyed his sucker that he got for doing it at the end most of all! He also got his very own pumpkin at the end which he was so proud of. It was a beautiful sunny (a little hot) fall day! When we got home, Connor went down for a nap and Brad decided that sounded pretty good too! Pops and Pete took a drive to Lawrenceburg where some Brad's Mamaw's family lived. Grannie, An Am and I went on a little shopping trip to some of the shops around here. Brad stayed behind because someone obviously had to and took a nap. It was very nice of him to stay so I could get out with the girls. Everyone met back up and we went out for a pizza dinner at Pie in the Sky, which is always packed with family fun. We brought a new meaning to this with our very own "dough fight" at our table. They bring dough to the kids to play with and I had made a snowman for Connor. Well, I am not sure who started it but a ball was thrown at C and then the whole table joined in the fun, well except Grannie. She said she was not going to be to blame for being kicked out of there. Ha! It truly was a great weekend hanging out with the family. Thanks you guys for coming out to see us! We promise the next trip we will be heading out your way.

Connor also got many gifts from Grannie and Pops who hit up the Disney Store! You guys definitely outdid yourselves. I didnt get any pictures of it but Connor got a Donald Duck, Goofy, Mickey lunch box, Mickey sippy cup, Mickey plate, bowl, and snack containers, and 2 sets of PJ's. He loved them all, especially the cup, plate and bowl. We had to wash them right up and use them right away. Thanks you guys, you are too good to our Connor!

I am glad you got Ronnie down your way but he must of messed up on telling all of you who's family is in Lawerenceburg. It is Brad's great-grandmothers grandchildren.
Brad's Granddaddy Thompson's family. Mamaw Thompson's family is from Centerville. But I understand Ronnie not getting them straight since there was 16 siblings in Mamaw Thompson's family. But the ones in Lawerenceburg is Granddadday Thompson's family. Ha! Glad you had a great time. Let me know the next time yall come in for I can see that purdy little feller!! Love you, Aunt Susie
